**Tour description**
This quick taste of the western USA highlights the area’s two most important national parks, the wonders of incomparable Las Vegas, and the desert splendour of the Colorado River region, all sandwiched between America’s loveliest city, San Francisco, and its most unique, Los Angeles.
Bidding San Francisco a reluctant farewell, head east through California’s gold country, where in 1848, the finding of a single nugget triggered a stampede of gold-seekers known as the 49ers.
Then, a scenic drive into the Yosemite NP region and a chance to hike, bike, or float through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths and groves of giant Sequoia trees - the largest living things of earth!
Next, Las Vegas - the greatest show on earth! Cruise the Strip in style with the included limousine tour, then take in a show, gamble the night away, or just watch the amazing crowds, neon, and attractions that the many Hotel casinos have to offer. For even more excitement by day, take a bungee jump or get ‘Wet ‘n Wild’ at the giant water park.
Leaving Las Vegas, explore America’s premier national park, and find out why it is called the Grand Canyon.
Visit the viewpoints, hike the trails, or take a scenic flight for a bird’s-eye view - no matter what, you will not believe your eyes.
Then, drop down into the desert for a lovely last evening along the Colorado River, before heading to the City of Angels for a tour of Hollywood and our final destination.
