Our trips are designed for guests that want to do more than just look at our beautiful scenery from a bus.
Every day we organise the chance to do some easy optional hiking (1-3 hours), as well as adrenalin activities such as tandem skydiving, white water rafting or something a bit more sedate like swimming with the dolphins or sailing.
Optional activities that require extra cost are marked with an asterix*.
You do not have to be an athlete to enjoy our adventures, as there are always different grades and lengths of trails to take on our hikes.
Our trips typically have 12 guests with 1 guide. The guests assist throughout the trip to help prepare meals and generally help out to keep their adventure running smoothly.
We use multi-share cabins at ski lodges, Holiday Parks and top class backpacker hotels.
Our typical guest is a 25 to 30-something office / professional who wants to get out and experience New Zealand''s beauty, as well as having the chance to sit back and relax while our guide takes care of the driving, accommodation and food on their holiday adventure.
Come along and join us for an experience we know you will enjoy ....
**Day 1: Auckland to Bay of Islands. ** We start our adventure by travelling to Paihia in the Bay of Islands. There are a number of activities to choose from today: take a boat trip out into the Bay to swim with the dolphins*; join a guided sea-kayaking adventure*; take a ferry across the Bay to explore historic Russell*; or just laze on the beach which is only one-block from our accommodations. This afternoon we can take a 2-hour (return) hike through the forest to a scenic lookout over the Bay before our included dinner. (Dinner)
**Day 2 Bay of Islands.** A free day to explore as you like. Perhaps spend the day sailing amongst the 144 islands in the Bay, hike one of the many local shoreline and forest trails overlooking the Bay, or take the whole day to hike some of the unpopulated islands within the Maritime Park and explore archaeological diggings from the early native Maori tribes*. After our included dinner tonight we can take a stroll along the waterfront for a quiet drink at one of the cafes'' overlooking the water. (Breakfast, Dinner)
**Day 3 Bay of Islands to Rotorua (via Auckland).** We head back to Auckland in time for lunch and to meet a few more travellers joining our adventure before we arrive in Rotorua, famous for its thermal activity and native Maori heritage. We can take an evening excursion to walk off our included dinner through a local geothermal park where we can get up close to boiling mud pools and steaming geysers. (Breakfast, Dinner)
**Day 4 Rotorua.** Your choice of culture, outdoor pursuits or adrenalin adventures today. Enjoy the Volcanic Wonderland and experience geothermal activity and view live Kiwi birds in their nocturnal habitat* or venture into the nearby forests to explore the hiking and mountain biking tracks. A popular option today is white water rafting* at Kaitiaki River. The chance to experience traditional native Maori culture at a concert and feast* this evening. (Breakfast)
**Day 5 Rotorua to Tongariro National Park.** With a short drive to Lake Taupo we stop to view the mighty Huka Falls. Today we have the chance to explore a dormant volcano by taking a 7-hour hike on the Mt.Tongariro Crossing trail. Shorter hikes can be explored nearby on an active volcano, Mt.Ruapehu on one of the many walks within the National Park. Tonight we have twin-share accommodation at our ski-lodge on the side of the volcano. After our included dinner, we can soak our tired bodies in one of the lodge''s hot tubs. (Breakfast, Dinner)
**Day 6 Tongariro National Park to Wellington.** We travel through rolling farmlands before arriving in Wellington, New Zealand''s capital city. We explore the National Museum and visit Parliament Grounds before our trip ends at 4.00pm in downtown. (Breakfast)
