A TANDEM SKYDIVE is an amazing way of experiencing the thrill and excitement of skydiving without the hours of training involved in learning to do it alone. A duel parachute system allows a totally inexperienced passenger, who is harnessed to the tandem instructor, to experience the ultimate in gravity powered adventure !
* * THE SKYDIVE & SCENERY: Our aeroplane will take passengers on an incredible 20/25 minute scenic flight around the breathtaking Southern Alps. Capture views of Mt. Cook and Mt. Aspiring which towers above the wilderness of the Mt. Aspiring National Park where glaciers carve the landscape. See patchwork fields, braided alpine rivers and the four sparkling lakes in the area. At 9,000 feet or 12,000 feet above the ground the tandem pair exit the plane. The jump includes 30 or 45 seconds of freefall travelling at 120 mph/ 200 kph. then a 5-7 minute parachute ride soaring amongst breathtaking alpine scenery followed by a gentle landing back at the airport. Passengers are then given a certificate of achievement! We believe we have the most scenic drop zone in the world !
The plane will take up to 3 people at a time and the trip lasts an hour. On arrival, passengers are fully briefed on the skydive. We provide all necessary equipment, jumpsuits, goggles (there is no problem to wear glasses or contact lenses) helmet and gloves.
A courtesy van provides transport to and from parachute dropzone at Wanaka airport which is 7km from Wanaka on state highway 6 to Queenstown - South Island New Zealand. The hangar is located next to the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum at Wanaka Airport.
