The towns you see in the boxes featured on the destination maps are Stopover Towns. A trip from Nelson to Queenstown may take only 10 hours on an express bus, but it takes 5 days on KiwiExperience because we wind our way around the country checking out all the good stuff and only travelling during the day.
The Stopover towns for Southern RoundUp are Nelson, Westport, Mahinapua, Franz Josef, Wanaka, Queenstown, Christchurch and Kaikoura.
Your Southern Round Up Pass is valid for 12 months allowing you unlimited stopovers along the way. You can start anywhere in the South Island, and travel in one direction for up to 12 months, until you get back to where you started. The Southern Round Up Pass takes a minimum of 10 days to complete.
If you choose to travel upon a minimum day timetable, it is advisable to book your departure date at least 48 hours before you start your journey. At this stage please specify that you would like to be booked through upon a minimum time schedule and our reservations team will ensure your journey is scheduled appropriately.
