The Siam View Hotel at Arugam Bay is a small resort directly on the white sandy beachfront of famous Arugam-Bay. We are close to Surf Point, a place known to keen surfers throughout the world for years. The Hotel is a perfect place for young couples, young families, stressed executives as well as all watersport enthusiasts. It is run by a cooperative of five friends from different continents.
The Siam View has a distinct Thai character with its relaxed culture. It is very popular with female travellers and couples due its secure and secluded grounds set in this mainly Muslim part of Sri Lanka.
The Hotel is small and we offer various categories of rooms. There are 5 rooms in the old wing, build about 15 years. Now these category 1 rooms will suit budget travellers only. In category 2 we have two traditional beach cabanas with attached bathrooms.
Category 3 is a large, new building with 4 rooms overlooking the entire bay. Built on stilts, it suits large families or a group of surfers. As our category 4 we offer our south wing building with 5 brand new rooms, hot showers, Australian waterbeds and telephone sockets.
There are two luxury apartments, our 5-star rooms and our ‘Royal Suite' high up among the coconut trees. All our rooms have private bathrooms and a fan. Some rooms also have air conditioning, TV, video and a LAN connection.
There is a Thai-style restaurant, a bar, a games and snooker room, daily videos and music as well as a weekend beach trance party in our tropical garden. There are other restaurants nearby offering local food in more basic settings. In the Hotel grounds there are also two table tennis locations and a volleyball court.
