The Romantic Bavarian Alps will thrill you! The journey takes us via the Alpenstrasse to where we travel parallel to the King''s Lake river to the Obersalzburg. Here the once rulers of the Third Reich had their residence. Although there is very little left to see except where the road, leading up to the famouns famous Eagle''s Nest starts (Hitler''s former Conference Centre). The highlight of our tour still awaits as you then tour the over 450-year-old Salt Mines.
Wearing traditional miners´clothes, we enter the mines and hear historical as well as legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before, we descend to the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. We end our romatnic and educational adventure with a raft sail on the salt lake and a special train trip.
Afterwards you have the chance to regain your strength with some Bavarian specialities during a stop in Berchtesgaden. Highlights: View of Hitler''s ''Eagle''s Nest''. Magnificent views across the snowcapped peaks of the Bavarian mountains. Dress up in miners'' clothes. Riding on original mining waggons, 100-foot-slide to the grottos, a film showing the origin of the salt deposits. Boat ride on the salt lake. Stop in Berchtesgaden.
