They are known as ''wahi pana'', or the sacred places of Hawai''i. Even today they possess mana (spiritual power) for the Hawaiians.
Experience authentic Native Hawaiian history and culture on this very special excursion. Over five hours long and traveling half-way around the island of Oahu, guests are taken to some of the most ancient and sacred places in Hawaii. You can close your eyes and feel the mana of the places visited on this excursion. Your Native Hawaiian guide being a descendent of the very first Polynesian settlers, will give a accurate and factual narration of these special places. From ancient petrogylphs, to Hawaiian fish ponds, to heiau (places of worship and sacrifice), you''ll learn much about the Hawaiian and the culture that in many cases is still practiced today as it was some fifteen-hundred years ago.
As these sites are extremely sacred great care must be taken while visiting them. Nothing should be moved or altered. The same respect should be taken here as with any sacred site.
Complimentary Hotel pickup in Waikiki starts at 7:30 the morning of the excursion. Return is around 1-2 pm. Guests are taken to over a half a dozen of what the Hawaiians consider to be the most sacred and historical sites of today and of ancient Hawaii. Native Hawaiian guides narrate the entire excursion.
Tour price includes Hawaiian Kona coffee and Danish in morning, water, transportation. Lunch stop available on completion of excursion (guest pay).
