Kitty & Danny welcome you to The Rainbow Lodge where there is enough space to suit all your moods. If you want to relax, head for the spacious garden behind the main house where you can soak up the sun, watch sunsets or stargaze by the swimming pool (Sept to May). Alternatively watch satellite TV or a video in the TV room or find a partner for a game of pool in the 'Easy Going' bar.
Dorms are uncluttered (max 4 beds) and we have plenty of private rooms - comfy backpacking doubles and twins, en suite rondavels and our 'honeymoon' ensuite double with King Size bed.
There is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere here, ageing but cute pets and an inside braai/fireplace and reading/lounging area.
The 'Easy Going' Bar is set away from the main accommodation and has a pool table and music has a lively vibe and exits out to the garden and swimming pool.
The Rainbow is set in the tranquil Stormsriver Village, home of Blackwater Tubing, Treetop Canopy Tours and a host of other eco adventure activities such as Mountain Biking/River Cruise up the Stormsriver Gorge. We are also just 25km from the world's highest Bungi Jump at Bloukrans and are very close to the Tsitsikamma National Park - SA's pioneer Marine Reserve and home of the famous Otter Trail and Suspension Bridge over the Storms River Mouth. Here you can scuba dive, snorkel, hike, stroll, chill out on the small beach or take a cruise up the Stormsriver Gorge.
We have a shuttle/transport available for guests for local activities and places of interest.
All bedding is supplied and there is a well equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee and spices and plentiful supply of hot water in the bathrooms.
We can offer lots of info and first hand knowledge of all local activities from the enthusiastic owners and staff. Schwiizerduetsch, Deutsch, Un Peu de Francais as well as English & Afrikaans spoken
We serve healthy breakfasts daily and fire up regular tradional braais and potjies with home baked garlic bread. Otherwise there are 2 restaurants within walking distance and a couple more in easy driving distance. There are a couple of small shops close by and mini ATMs but better to do banking before you arrive.
We always have someone around to answer your questions or help you out.
