The acclaimed Paddy's Palace, Derry is a vibrant, brand new 40-bed Hostel located in the centre of Ireland’s most historic city. Ideal for enjoying the magical city centre nightlife. It is located only 5 minutes walk away from the city walls (1601) and the ‘Bogside' district, the scene of the Bloody Sunday tragedy(1972).
OUR AIM
Is to provide a safe, sparkling clean comfortable environment for our valued guests. We also want you to learn a wee bit more about life in our province. Interested in the history, politics and culture of Northern Ireland? Aye? This Hostel is for you....
COMFY BEDS
We provide 4 and 6 bed dormitory rooms (several with bathrooms) and also private rooms with ensuite bathroom facilities. We have invested in total comfort mattresses (read our guest comment book!)There is also a modern and fully equipped Kitchen.
FREE BREAKFAST/TEA+COFFEE
A fine breakfast is included free with each stay. Complimentary tea/coffee 24hrs, sometimes with snacks! Along with that we also provide the use of laundry facilities, free internet access, and vital parking facilities.
CITY TOURS
Our co-owner Derry Character Steve McPhilemy organises the famous 'Essential Walking Tour of Historic Derry' featured in the worlds guidebooks and seen on BBC, CNN and Rick Steves on PBS.We also offer day trips to Donegal and the Giants Causeway. As we are linked to the Paddywagon circuit, small mini buses of independent travellers are coming and going regularly linking our Hostel with the other great Hostels in Ireland North and South.
CULTURE AND SONG
Our elegant Georgian TV room and adjoining dining parlour are excellent places to relax, read a book from our library or consider joining in with the fine passionate Derry ‘sing alongs' that occur twice weekly. Maybe learn your first Irish folk song!
IRISH SPORT
We offer the chance to learn the skills of the ancient Irish game of hurling, with regular street games during the summer months!
