Built in 2000 on one of Fiji's most magnificent beaches, Oarsman's Bay Lodge offers a warm friendly ambience in a breathtaking location, to its diverse international guests.
The Yasawas are amongst the most beautiful group of islands in the whole South Pacific. Each island has its own unique geography, character and myths. You will find long stretches of immaculate white sand beaches fringed by palms, warm crystal clear azure blue water, pristine tropical rain forest, romantic sunsets and charming authentic Fijian villages who’s people make you feel welcome and very special. Columbia Pictures searched all over the pacific to shoot “Blue Lagoon”, the movie with Brooke Shields and they found the perfect backdrop,” right here”.
Six individual bures (cottages) and a 20-bed dormitory scatter on the shores of Nalova Bay and offers spectacular million dollar views of the Yasawa islands.
Our private Bures have private facilities, hot showers, fresh linen and are positioned just a few steps away from the beach. Drift to sleep on your locally handcrafted Fijian double bed, or on a private hammock swinging from the verandah with the backdrop of the Blue Lagoon. Family Bures accommodate to up 6 people with four bunk beds and a double bedroom with private facilities. The dormitory offers 20 comfy single beds, so you avoid be awaken by a tossing and turning bunkmate!. For the ones that prefer to sleep under the stars, we offer tents for rent or your welcome to bring your tent.
We offer reasonably cheap meal packages in our communal restaurant and bar. Vegetables picked freshly from the village garden and fish caught from the local reefs, are all served with natural Fijian friendliness. Communal dining is an excellent time to meet guests from all over the world, whilst overlooking the beautiful Yasawa waters. The dining room includes a bar where you can enjoy cocktails, a cold beer and quality Australian wines.
Whether kicking back in the outdoor restaurant and bar, relaxing in one of the hammocks scattered along the beach, enjoying a game of volleyball with wonderful Fijian staff , Island hopping, Swimming in the famous Sawa-I-Lau Caves, authentic handicraft demonstrations or visiting a local Fijian village, you will not find a more idyllic and breathtakingly beautiful location to wile away your time.
