Liveaboard Snorkel Trip

Cairns Dive Centre has certified diver / snorkeller trips departing daily to the Outer Great Barrier Reef. We visit a variety of sites about an hour and a half off the coast of Cairns. These sites include Moore, Milln, Briggs, Elford and Tetford reefs.
Our liveaboard vessel, the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer, is a 26 metre long twin hulled vessel with a 9 metre beam, which offers a very stable diving platform. Each of the 16 cabins (twin, double or 4-berth) is fully air-conditioned, carpeted, has its own en-suite facilities and window. The boat also offers an enclosed air-conditioned sun lounge as well as an open and shaded sundeck.
All meals and linen are included whilst on the boat but we ask you to please supply your own towels.
Daily pickups at city accommodation at 08.15am for overnight passengers
Arriving back into Cairns at 4.30pm on day of return.
2 day 1 night on 2 different reefs Snorkeller $198.00
3 day 2 night on 3 different reefs Snorkeller $297.00
Any additional days will cost $110.00 and will include 1 night accommodation, use of snorkel equipment, all meals provided and plenty more time to snorkel, although you will probably start snorkelling the same sites again.
For the snorkellers, there is the opportunity to conduct an Introductory dive. This will require no prior certification, but you do need to be physically fit and do not suffer from any medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, lung or heart conditions. The cost of this is $55.00 for the first dive, $44.00 for any consecutive dives.
You are more than welcome to bring your own equipment, however, this will not effect the price of the trip.
You would also need to pay a Marine Park Levy of $A5.00 per person per day. Departures are daily.
We offer a free Introductory dive in the pool prior to the trip. This takes about 1 hour of your time and involves some theory and a bit of play in our pool. This is a great way to getting used to the Dive equipment and to breathing under water.
Camera hire is available on the boat for A$ 25.00 for 2 dives, which includes the film. If you would like to keep the camera for more dives, you will be charged A$ 10.00 per dive, which once again includes another film. There also is a Videographer onboard the boat, who can accompany you on your dive(s).
Please remember the dive/fly rule - in that we will not allow you to dive within 24 hours of flying.
