From the spectacular scenery of Mpumalanga to game viewing in the famous Kruger National Park, from the Kingdom of Swaziland to the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. The KRUGER SAFARI offers an incredibly varied itinerary within one action-packed week
**DAY 1: MPUMALANGA** Departing Johannesburg we travel to the beautiful landscape of Mpumalanga. Spectacular view points at Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window, together with tumbling waterfalls and the unusual geological formations of Bourke''s Luck Potholes offer us breathtaking examples of the scenic splendour of South Africa.
**DAY 2: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK** View the Berlin Falls, then explore the reconstructed gold rush town of Pilgrim’s Rest, where a handful of prospectors still work the streams of the area. We now enter the southern section of Kruger National Park where we camp within the park for two nights. Our hunt for the Big 5 begins.
**DAY 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK** Armed with camera and binoculars we explore the untamed wilderness of Kruger, the choice of routes being influenced by advice and reports from local rangers, on areas in which game may be concentrated. Possible encounters with lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo make for an exhilarating day of action-packed game drives.
**DAY 4: SWAZILAND** Leaving Kruger we enter the soaring highlands of the Kingdom of Swaziland. This small, independent country possesses a colourful history and a proud people. The Mbabane Market offers a variety of traditional handicrafts. Mlilwane Wildlife Reserve provides a rare chance for a walking safari (horse riding is also available) and from the camp’s look-out hide, a close-up of hippos feeding at a waterhole.
**DAY 5: DRAKENSBERG** Re-entering South Africa, we take a step back in time to the days of the Anglo-Boer conflicts. We recreate the strategies of British and Boer forces at the Talana History Museum situated on the battlefield outside Dundee, then carry on to Ladysmith. Our driving day concludes at our Drakensberg campsite, home for two nights, situated at the base of the towering Amphitheatre.
**DAY 6: DRAKENSBERG** A sensational hike up the Tugela Gorge will reveal the grandeur and gigantic scale of the Drakensberg range. Enjoy a picnic lunch, a rock pool swim and a visit to Bushman paintings before returning for a barbeque back at camp.
**DAY 7: DURBAN** Travelling through the lush KwaZulu Natal Midlands brings us to our final destination of Durban, South Africa’s sunshine and surf capital with its famous Golden Mile of beaches.
