This hostel, located in the old mayor's house in Matubatuba has huge amounts of space. One of its main features is the fact that it is a perfect launch pad for many local reserves in the area and even runs its own open game drive vehicles. Chill out and catch a boat cruise to view hippos and crocodiles or just join the guide for a walk in St Lucia and Cape Vidal.
The house has many facilities such as an information centre, pool table, dual DS TV and a swimming pool. All rooms are air conditioned and we have 3 twin rooms also sold as doubles, 1 classy double-en suite with shower and bath + twin his and her basins. Dorm rooms are available also. Three additional toilet facilities and showers as well as an open air toilet and shower are available.

Khumbulani means a place to remember. Matubatuba was chosen because of its close proximity to Umfolozi Game Park (+- 26Kms) and St. Lucia (+- 25kms).
Matubatuba was once a small railway siding which was en route between Thukela (Tugela) River and Golela on the Swaziland border. The village developed & grew with the introduction of the sugar plantation and the mill at Riverview.
