** DAY 1 - Darwin to Jabiru (LD) **
Depart 07:00am and travel east, calling at ''Windows on the Wetlands'' and examining the giant termite mounds. Inside Gagudju, first stop is Mamukala Billabong with its abundant bird life. Next, Bowali Visitors Centre. On the East Alligator River, Ubirr marks the N-E corner of Kakadu, bordering Arnhem Land. A short walk takes in striking Aboriginal rock art galleries and from a massive rock outcrop, spectacular views of the Nardab floodplains spreading towards the Arafura Sea. Overnight at Aurora Resort, Jabiru: camp or upgrade to bunkhouse.
** DAY 2 - Nourlangie Rock to Cooinda (BLD) **
The morning is spent in the Nourlangie area, part of the craggy sandstone escarpment marking the eastern side of Gagudju. Visit the Anbangbang Gallery, a significant Aboriginal rock art site featuring vivid images of Namarrgon the ''Lightning Man''. Stroll around the pristine Anbangbang Billabong packed with water lilies or hike on to the Escarpment for magnificent views across Gagudju. Cool off with an afternoon swim in the clear waters at Gubara rock pools, then head via the Mirrai lookout to Yellow Waters and Gagudju Lodge. Camp or upgrade to bunkhouse.
** DAY 3 - Yellow Waters & Gunlom Falls (BLD) **
Yellow Waters wetlands can be enjoyed by boardwalk or on a cruise (Extra cost, also gives best chances of safe croc spotting). The early morning wildlife at Yellow Waters is prolific. We then travel to the south end of Gagudju, taking a dirt road through creek crossings to picturesque Gunlom Falls, a great place for a swim and lunch. A hike to the top of the falls is rewarded with rock pools and awesome vies. Completing a loop, our return to Darwin is via the historic mining town of Pine Creek, ending around 6:00pm
