The Jenolan Caves, Australia''s Underground Wonderland is set amongst a 2416 hectare reserve with an incredible variety of flora and fauna and provides a wide range of unexpected beauty, both above and below ground. Your journey to Jenolan commences in Katoomba and heads westward along the original path the three explorers used to cross the Mountains in 1813. On the way we inspect Govetts Leap Lookout (weather and time permitting) with its awesome views of the Gross Valley. Govetts Leap is where many of the scenes from ''The Edge'' were filmed. The countryside changes dramatically as we make our way from Katoomba to the Caves, our interesting commentary informing you of the local history and geography before we enter the pine forest plantations as we descend into the valley below. The entrance into the Jenolan Caves via the Grand Arch is definitely one of the most spectacular approaches. Most inspections last from one and one and a half hours. These limestone caves are really fascinating and the lighting enhances the wonderful colours and formations. You will be guided through the caves by expert guides who give you loads of information.
Your tour includes luxury return coach travel from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves with informative commentary, morning tea and one cave inspection. .The coach arrives at Jenolan Caves at 11am { time to freshen up and enjoy morning tea } The cave inspection goes for 1 and a half hours starting at 11 - 45 am . . Then have some free time for lunch at the Bistro . . . After lunch the driver escorts the clients to the Blue Lake and Devils Coach House { 5 minutes walk } before departing Jenolan Caves around 3pm arriving at Katoomba by 5pm .
