**Day 1**
We will take a bus to Guangzhou train station, and board the train to Guilin.(overnight on train, D)
**Day 2-3**
We travel by local bus to the Longji valley, a half day drive through an area of extraordinary rice terraces to the Zhuang minority village of Ping''An, perched high on the side of a mountain. The scenery here is stunning and we will relax in the peace and quiet of the rice terraces, after a short walk up to wooden guest houses. We will have free time in late afternoon to tour the village and mountainside, with a special group dinner and a dance demonstration. The next day we will take a day hike, carrying a daypack, the perfect way to appreciate the countryside. This is a great opportunity for photography. We will return in the evening to our rustic Hostel for a simple meal with the local people( B, L, D)
**Day 4-5**
Our joumey continues by local bus as we cross the ancestral home of many of China''s minority hill tribes. We stop in the Dong minority village of Chengyang where we stay in a traditional wooden Guesthouse and explore the surrounding area to get a first hand experience of rural life.( B, L, D)
**Day 6-8**
Beautiful landscapes come with our return to Guilin and arrival in Yangshuo. This is the scenery of classical Chinese paintings as the Li River winds its way through thousands of spectacular limestone karsts. We will take a local boat up the river and cycle back through the scenic countryside. We will visit the countryside by bicycle to view karst mountains, hike to the top of Moon Hill (optional), and tour a cave. Return for dinner together and evening boat ride to view night fishing with cormorants. In the morning, we take a bus back to Guilin for our return train trip to Guangzhou (optional flight to Hong Kong)
