**Day 1**
Arrive in Leenane (we can help with arranging transfers). Warm welcome and chance to settle in. You will be given your route pack and general information to study overnight. If there is time we will allocate bikes and equipment. Stay the night in local B&B, dinner at your own choice and expense.
**Day 2**
Short maintenance talk and explanation of route options. The first day is to the small village of Cleggan, where you stay in B&B. The way meanders around the coastline to Tully Cross and further to Letterfrack home of the Connemara National Park (40km).
**Day 3**
Today will be an all day excursion to the island off Cleggan, Inishboffin one of the most beautiful islands off the west coast. Today it has a population of about 200 people, but was chosen in 655 by St Coleman for the site of his monastery as it was a place of tranquility. Return to Cleggan and your B&B.
**Day 4**
Depart after breakfast via Clifden (optional the Sky Road offering you fabulous views over Clifden Bay and the islands lying out in the Atlantic) to Roundstone, a picturesque fishing village. The Twelve Bens in the background provide for dramatic scenery. Stop at a suitable pub along the way to buy your own lunch. Dinner tonight is again at your own choice, as you stay in a B&B (38kms - 15kms extra for Sky Road).
**Day 5**
Today''s target is Rosmuc a small hamlet on the South Coast of Connemara. The road will bring you to Cashel, lying at the head of the beautiful Cashel Bay. Hundreds of lakes lie amid the bogs, the Twelve Bens and Maumturks are to the north and the sandy coves and glistening seaweed of Bertraghboy Bay to the south. Stay the night in B&B, where the housewife will cook for you (35kms).
**Day 6**
After breakfast set off inland via Maam Cross, and Maam to Cornamona on the shores of beautiful Lough Corrib, to Cong. Cong is situated on a narrow isthmus of covernous limestone between Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. The film the Quiet Man was filmed here and one of Ireland''s finest hotels, Ashford Castle is located on the shores of Lough Corrib. Stay the night in B&B, and choose your own dinner again in one of the restaurants (43kms).
**Day 7**
Depart after breakfast to cycle back to Leenane, passing through the Maam Valley (40kms). You cycle through Joyces country, and over a variety of passes with fantastic vistas over the lakes and mountains.
**Day 8**
Breakfast, followed by farewell and departure!
**How to get there**
The nearest train station is Westport (40 minutes) or Galway (70 minutes). There is a daily bus service by Michael Nee Cost 11 euro return(pick up from Forster Street) Galway -
Letterfrack where our courtesy bus will pick you up & drop you at the end of your stay.

There is a well established backpackers route from Galway to Clifden via Killary - Westport or back to Galway.
Hiring a car is an easier method of travel but more expensive.
