This expedition has two parts, on the first one, you will visit the lovely city of Cusco, the archeological sites near it and the sacred valley, there you will discover the mysteries of the Incas. Then, you will hike the Inca trail to reach Machu Picchu. On the second part, we will take you to the Manu (rainforest), there you will stay 6 days among the wildlife of the jungle.
**ITINERARY:**
**1st DAY:** Transfer to the airport in Lima / Flight to Cusco (9 AM)/ Transfer to the Hotel in Cusco. Cusco City Tour: 1st day. After settle down, you will visit the high points of Cusco city specially the remains of the colonial times as the Casa Garcilazo, the Cathedral and San Blas church. In the night you will have a welcome party.
**2nd DAY:** Cusco City Tour: 2nd day. Today, you will visit the Inca remains of Cusco city. The tour will start in Sacsayhuaman, a fortress built by the Incas to protect the capital of the empire. From there you will ride on a horse for 3 hours to visit 3 other archeological sites: Qenqo (a temple where sacrifices took place); Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
**3rd DAY:** Excursion to the Incas Sacred Valley: We will take you to Pisac, the first town in the Urubamba Valley. After visit the local market, you will do a short hike of 3 hours to visit the Inca temple on top of a hill and an Inca cemetery on a cliff. Then, we will take you back to Pisac to lunch. Afterwards, we will take you to Ollantaytambo town, after a nice ride along the valley. In Ollantaytambo you will visit a huge Inca temple. Finally, we will take you back to Cusco city in the evening.
**4th DAY:** Inca trail: 1st day. We will take you to the beginning of the Inca trail (Km. 82), from there the trail goes for 1 hour and an half before lunch, and then 2 hours more to reach the campsite. You will see Llactapata ruins and camp at Wayllabamba with an amazing view of a snow-capped peak.
**5th DAY:** Inca trail: 2nd day. Today you will start the hike early to reach after 4 hours the Warmiwañuska pass, the highest point on the trail (4,200 meters / 13,780 ft). After rest on top of the pass, the group will start the descend to the Pacamayo valley, there the group will camp for lunch and rest.
**6th DAY:** Inca trail: 3rd day. This day is the most amazing one, the hike starts with an ascend to the Runkurakay pass (3,950 mts. / 12,959 ft), from there the view of the mountains and the cloudforest is quite impressive. After the pass, the path goes down and the sceneries are more like a rainforest. Along the path it are 3 main ruins, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñay Wayna.
**7th DAY:** Inca trail: 4th day. We will wake you up early in the morning (4:30 AM) to start the hike at 5:30 am and reach Inti Punku (Sun''s Gate) before 7 AM to watch the first sun beams hit Machu Picchu. You will spend the whole morning in Machu Picchu to visit every room, every temple, every field, and don''t miss any detail of this dream came true. In the afternoon, we will take you to Aguas Calientes town to lunch and then take the train back to Cusco. You will be in Cusco in the evening (9 PM).
**8th DAY:** You will have the day free for your shopping and to enjoy the city of Cusco at your own pace. OPTIONAL: Rafting on the Urubamba river. We will take you to the Urubamba river to raft. The level of it is very good, adventurous but safe.
**9th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 1st day. The group will start early in the morning the journey to the Manu. A bus will take you from Cusco to San Pedro village. On the ride you will leave behind the mountains to enter to the rainforest. You will camp at ''Cock of the Rocks'' lodge.
**10th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 2nd day. The bus ride will continue until Atalaya port, there the group will take wooden canoes (30-45 ft long) to continue down the river until ''Boca Manu'' village. You will camp at Manu''s Paradise Center.
**11th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 3rd day. During the day, you will do walking Tours to the surroundings of the campsite and the adjacent lakes, it''s an exciting opportunity for wildlife and bird watching. During the night you will be able to see caimans on the river shores.
**12th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 4th day. In the morning, the group will visit the shores of the ''Blanco'' river, there you will be able to watch hundreds of parrots and macaws. In the afternoon, the group will visit a lagoon, there you will watch the black caiman.
**13th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 5th day. Today, the group will return to the ''collpas'' (macaws habitat) and watch the parrots and macaws in its daily activities. After lunch, you will go to a lagoon to fish piranhas for dinner.
**14th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 6th day. During the day, the group will visit another lagoon, there you will see the giant otters. Then, we will take you to a tower of 42 meters, from the top you will be able to see the jungle from above. In the afternoon, the group will start the return trip by canoes until ''Boca Manu'' village.
**15th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 7th day. In the morning, the group will continue with canoes until Atalaya port, from there the journey is by bus until Pilcopata town. There, the group will stay at a hostel.
**16th DAY:** Manu Expedition: 8th day. The group will continue the journey until Cusco by bus, you will arrive to Cusco in the afternoon. You have the evening for your last shopping.
**17th DAY:** Transfer to the airport in Cusco for your late morning flight to Lima.
OPTIONAL: For the group members who doesn''t want to hike the Inca Trail, we can organize other Tours (including Machu Picchu of course) on those dates, for the same price.

**MEETING:**
You must arrive to Lima one day before the tour starts, the latest. We will pick you up from the airport at your arrival and take you to the hotel. The transfer is included. You must tell us your arrival information (date, hour, airline and flight number) to confirm your booking.
