Cuckoo's Nest, with it's lovely creative energy, is a good backpakcers rest. Situated in the small village of Kwambonambi where streets are canopied by huge trees, it's a comfortable, easy going place with a groovy vibe. Most of the Hostel (which is the oldest in Zululand) revolves around the beautiful garden which is made totally inhabitable by a huge table with comfy cushioned benches.
It is so easy to while away a few days hanging out in their hammocks, flopping around in the pool or chilling out at the candle lit "Bar Bazar" where the fire pit makes sucking on beer, and occasionally plopping a fresh log onto the flames, a nightly ritual.
