**Day 1** We leave Boston at 10:00 am from the side of south station, on Atlantic St. near Essex St. We travel west to Hartford, CT. To meet passengers at 1 pm at the federal building (the old post office) on high St. near the greyhound station. We arrive in New York City and have a couple of hours for dinner. Our pickup is at 7 pm outside of 718 w. 178th St. Opposite the George Washington bridge bus station. We leave NYC after the bus is loaded and drive through the night.
**Day 2** In Ohio we stop at Crane Creek State Park on Lake Erie for a cookout breakfast at the beach. You might see blue heron, white cranes or one of many other local birds at this wildlife refuge. During the day we may travel west to Indiana Dunes on Lake Michigan for a swim then its Chicago for dinner on the town and a chance to check out the great blues clubs on the south side. From here we begin our drive west over the great plains.
**Day 3** On the banks of the Mississippi we cookout at a state park near La Crosse, Wisconsin. Today we drive past rolling farmlands to our dinner stop at Loon Lake in Minnesota.
**Day 4** We arrive at dawn in the beautiful Badlands of South Dakota. You can take a five mile hike through this incredible landscape. Then the bus meanders through the formations that make the badlands famous. At dinner we have a party at Cuny''s Cafe with the eastbound bus, and camp under the stars at a remote mountain mesa.
**Day 5** After breakfast we visit a display of native American artifacts, take a dip in an ankle-deep swimming hole, and head to Scenic, SD for a visit to the Longhorn Saloon & Trading Post. That night you sleep while we drive to the Rocky Mountains.
**Day 6** Your driver will decide the route through Colorado, maybe the highest road in America near Loveland Pass. Which ever path you take its sure to be breathtaking, especially at 12,OOO feet! Then it''s on to Glenwood Springs, CO. Where we have a chance to raft the Colorado River or visit the famous hot springs and steam cave before driving overnight.
**Day 7** Arches National Park where you can hike among the magical natural stone arches. Afterwards we''ll camp next to the Colorado River.
**Day 8** After breakfast it''s a short drive to Canyonlands National Park and/or Dead Horse Point State Park for some short hikes and stunning views. Then to Moab, UT for a night on the town before piling back in the bus.
**Day 9** We wake up at Mystic Hot Springs for breakfast and a soak before continuing on to Kodachrome Basin State Park with its amazing rock formations, and optional horseback riding [about $15]. Perfect place for a bbq and campout under the stars.
**Day 10** Bryce Canyon National Park offers plenty of opportunities to hike among the canyon''s spruce and cedar trees, or around the rim. Then we make the short drive to camp near the entrance to Zion.
**Day 11** Zion National Park has some of the west''s best scenery: the Zion narrows, angel''s landing and emerald pools. We make a quick late night stop in Las Vegas, leaving its bright casino lights around midnight.
**Day 12** early in the morning we drop our LA bound passengers off in Bakersfield and arrive in San Francisco between 4-8 PM to say our sad good-byes.
