This course begins with ground school, canopy control on flat ground, followed by low level flights (bunny hops) on nursery slopes. When you feel comfortable and have demonstrate good control of the glider you move up the training slope where you log your ''first solo flight''. Radio supervision is provided for your comfort and safety. The pilot gains the knowledge and basic skills necessary to fly and practice under direct instructor supervision and within significant operating limitations. The pilot understands the rating system and recommended operating limitations.
Our emphasis is on getting people to enjoy the sport and fly safely. Classes are limited to five persons so quality instruction is guaranteed. We provide the paraglider, harness, helmet and radios during the lessons.
No special clothing is required although we do suggest that you wear full length pants and comfortable running shoes with ankle support.
After flying & Other Activities:
Moonlight swims and barbeques by the lakeside is what we do to unwind
after a tiring day at the site. Balu''s, the local pub on the way back to base is ideal for a few beers and mingling with the village elders sitting under the ancient Peepal tree indulging in a quiet smoke. Get together''s at the Guesthouse to talk about flying and more flying &
barbecues on the weekend. When we do have the time and you are inclined there are a wide range of alternative activities to indulge in such as short early morning treks for the energetic, swimming or just cooling off in the lake, fishing, pottering around in the vegetable garden or simply relaxing in a hammock, and enjoying the scenery.
