**A perfect angling with Eco walks in Great Himalayan National Park and staying in the oldest forest rest houses.**
This program includes a complete fishing holiday within the reach of Great Himalayan National Park, Kullu where spending time in relation of forests, old rest houses of British period too, watching flora and fauna, Eco treks in the GHNP would be an experience of life time.
Great Himalayan National Park, (GHNP) situated in the Kullu district is the least disturbed western Himalayan representative Eco -systems, supporting an extremely diverse wildlife population. It harbors one of the few known viable populations of Western Tragopan along with more than 300 species of birds and over 30 species of mammals.
The park is contiguous with the Rupi Bhaba Sanctuary (269 sq. Kms) in the southeast, Pin Valley national Park (675 sq. Kms) in the east and Kanawar Wildlife Sanctuary in the north. Together these areas constitute one of the largest areas of relatively undisturbed Western Himalayan Eco system in the north India. Few important names of fauna are Western Tragopan, Monal, Cheer, Koklass, Kaliz, Himalayan Snowcock, Himalayan Thar, Bharal, Musk deer and few more. Where the flora is concerned about one third of the park area supports closed canopy forests. A little over half of the area lies above 4000 meters, the approximate upper limit for alpine meadow communities.
The presence of undisturbed oak forests at low and middle altitude is worth noticing, which is rare outside the park. Alpine meadows occurring above about 3800 meters, the upper limit of sub alpine and alpine scrub communities, hold a high diversity of herbaceous species, many of which have medicinal and aromatic properties and are of great commercial value. The lower altitude forests generally support a dense under story with a high diversity of shrubs, the important being Indigofera, and Viburnam, Sarcococa and Berberis species. **DAY-1** Chandigarh from Delhi by Shatawdi and transfer to Larji. 240 Kms drive by car/jeep. Check into government rest house- a quaint rest house built on the banks of two rivers. The British favored this place for trout fishing and Raj picnics. The drive takes you up from the planes to the Himalayas. **DAY-2** Full day fishing. We prefer booking forest rest houses, which are built during the British Raj in India at various places during this tour and provide you fishing camps as the best alternate. The area is highly scenic with the roaring sounds and chilled splashes of River Tirthan. **DAY-3** Full day fishing. **DAY-4** Drive to Neuli and explore near by areas of wild life. Overnight at Camp. **DAY-5** Easy walks in GHNP and overnight at Camp. **DAY-6** Drive to Jalori Pass (03-04-hrs drive) and walk to Takrasi.
