**Winter Itinerary**
**Day 1 — Leaving Edinburgh...** ... and crossing the medieval battlefield of Bannockburn, through Stirling to the Wallace Monument and into the Highlands.
Through Rob Roy country, the Trossachs and up into the Campbell stronghold of Kilchurn Castle and Loch Awe before arriving in the Victorian Harbour town of Oban.
**Day 2 — Ancient Scotland** Learn of Scotland''s beginnings as a nation. South of Oban lies the remains of the dark ages hill fort, Dunadd, one of the many possible sites of Camelot. Down to Kilmartin Glen, packed with Neolithic standing stones, obelisks and tombs that are 2000 years older than the Egyptian Pyramids. Soak up the seriously ancient history and the roots of this Celtic nation.
**Day 3 — The West Coast** We head north out of Oban up the west coast, passing castle Stalker and into the breathtaking Glen Coe, scene of the famous massacre of 1692.
After Fort William we go into Glen Nevis - perhaps Scotlands prettiest glen and the setting for ''Braveheart''. Later we venture along the Dark Mile to Loch Arkaig, then up through Glen Shiel to Eilean Donan Castle (made famous by the movie ''Highlander''), before heading over the sea to Skye.
**Day 4 — Isle of Skye** As we explore the island, heading to its northern tip, we will pass through the mighty Cuillin mountains, stopping at amazing waterfalls and the seriously haunted ruined stronghold of the MacDonalds, perched atop a sea cliff. We scramble up to the spectacular rock formations of the Old Man of Storr and the Quaraing and visit the enchanted Fairy Glen.
**Day 5 — The Northern Wilds** We leave the island and head north through the village of Plockton and up into the wilds of Gairloch and Wester Ross, this is scenery that will blow you away. We then head down through the Black Isle and into the ''Capital of the Highlands'' — Inverness.
**Day 6 — Nessie Hunting** Water beasts are all part of Highland folklore, but Loch Ness, a vast geological rift, contains more fresh water then all of the lakes in England and Wales combined, be prepared to reassess your beliefs because they know ''something'' is in there. We visit Fort Augustus and then go waaayyy off the beaten track to Glen Affric, one of the most ancient forests in Europe.
**Day 7 — The Southern Highlands** Our journey back to Edinburgh is filled with a wealth of sights and scenery as we wend our way homewards through the glens of the Grampians mountains. Visiting Culloden battlefield, scene of the Highlanders last stand, the Clava Cairns and the ruined fort of Ruthven. Down to the frontier village of Dunkeld, before taking you over the River Forth to Edinburgh.
**Summer Itinerary**

**Day 5 — The Great Glen** Leaving Skye behind we travel to Eilean Donan Castle in the heart of the Highlands and then through the mystical lands of Kintail where every mountain has a story. Gliding through the plethora of colours that blesses Glen Sheil and into the largest fault line of Scotland, The Great Glen — home to Loch Ness. After a quick dip in the mysterious waters we travel on to the ''Capital of the Highlands'' — Inverness.
**Day 6 — The Southern Highlands** On leaving Inverness we take time to visit the emotional Drumossie Moor seen of the Highlanders last stand at Culloden battlefield. We decend through the passes of the Grampian mountains and stop at the commanding ruins of Ruthven, 18th century government barricks. Next we journey to the lands of Atholl and the pass of Killicrankie where our overnight stay, the Victorian resort of Pitlochry.
**Day 7 — St Andrews and the East Coast** Our last day takes us through Dunkeld — the ancient religious capital of Scotland and out to the Kingdom of Fife. The tour at this point stops at St Andrews and gives you the time to discover not only the home of golf, but also an ancient university town steeped in history and amazing silver sands.
Leaving the world famous old course behind we travel south through the coastal fishing villages with their own unique beauty and on to the Firth of Forth. Crossing the Firth gives you the perfect view of the Forth Rail Bridge — the greatest engineering achievement of the 20th century. Edinburgh is our final destination for heart-felt goodbyes over a pint.
