Tour Itinerary:
Day 1
We depart Darwin heading for the beautiful Litchfield National Park and spend the morning exploring Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole as well as the huge magnetic termite mounds. In the afternoon, we travel to Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge for a crocodile/ wildlife cruise on the Mary River Wetlands. After dinner, we settle down for our overnight camp. (LD)
Day 2
An early start for a big day! We call in at Jabiru to pick up our 4WD and head into the awesome Jim Jim Falls located deep within striking escarpment country, where we walk to the base of the falls enjoying the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful area. Then we head to Twin Falls (only able to be accessed by swimming) to swim under the cascading waterfall, explore and sunbake on the sandy bank before heading for our permanent campsite in Kakadu. Day 3
Time to delve into the amazing Aboriginal culture of Kakadu. We will see incredible rock art depicting dreamtime beliefs dating back thousands of years. After lunch we will explore the beauty of Gunlom Falls, walking to both the bottom and the top of the falls before heading to our overnight camp at Edith Falls. (BLD)
Day 4
This morning we enjoy a refreshing swim in the top pool at Edith Falls. After lunch we head south for a look at the famous Mataranka thermal pools. Overnight bush camp. (BLD)
Day 5
This morning we have a quick swim in Bitter Springs before heading to the unique Katherine Gorge for an afternoon canoeing or cruising (at your own expense). Overnight in our permanent Katherine camp. (BLD)
Day 6
We head north for a chance to soak at Douglas Hot Springs, then we take a short scenic hike to another of the Top Ends beautiful features, Robin Falls. Onto Berry Springs before returning to Darwin. (BL)
